Slovak Republic

The Slovak Republic currently has 4 VVER 440 reactor units operating at the Bohunice site. Two are of the older V230 design and 2 of the newer V213 design. The units started operation in 1978, 1980, 1984, and 1985. Photos of typical VVER 440 equipment are illustrated as *.gif files. The NEI Source Book   provides additional information about Bohunice.

Four units of the V213 design are under construction at the Mochovce site. Vyskumny ustav jadrovych elektrarni (VUJE) Trnava a.s. supports the nuclear facilities through its research activities.
